Step-by-step Process of Getting a German Visa from Bangladesh
You need to take this visa if Germany is your main destination.
As we mentioned earlier, previously the German embassy looked after all visa categories to enter their country. But now short term Schengen visas, Federal Foreign Ministry in Berlin outsources the Schengen-Visa Applications in Bangladesh. Let’s see the step-by-step process for getting a German tourist visa from Bangladesh.
Step 1: Gather all the documents for the Schengen visa
First, learn all the German Embassy Dhaka visa requirements. Here is a basic list-
- Completely filled out and signed the Schengen visa application form.
- Filled out and signed Declaration of Consent.
- Valid passport with minimum three months validity+ previous passport
- 1 recent biometric passport-sized photograph (35x45mm)
- Overseas medical insurance
- Proof of accommodation:
- Flight reservation or travel itinerary
- Personal cover letter explaining the purpose of your visit
- Tour Plan lining out the entire intended itinerary
- Original personal bank statements of at least the last 6 months
Step 2: Book an appointment
The next step is to book an appointment from the VFS website in your preferable slot.
Step 3: Reach the Visa Application Center to submit documents & biometric
On the given day, reach out to your nearest VFS center with all your documents. The VFS employee will cross-check all the documents and will ask you to pay the VFS service fee of € 15.00 per application.
They will also take the biometrics here and other records like-

- Scanning of biometric passport picture
Step 4: Your application will be forwarded by VFS Global to the German Embassy
After you submit the application and passport, VFS will forward everything to the German embassy. The ultimate decision for giving a visa is ultimately at the hand of the German embassy.
Step 5: collect the Passport
When the decision is made, the embassy will return your passport in a sealed envelope whether it’s accepted or not. You need to collect the passport from the visa application center.
If the visa is issued, check everything immediately and let the officer know if anything needs to be corrected. including-
